Yes, this cute little twig pot is made from Sumac. No, it’s not the poisonous kind. This sumac is from the tree that people often look at as a weed. We see it for what it is worth though and know that there is true beauty hidden within.
The natural color of this wood is truly unique with a wonderful sheen that is not seen in many woods.
Sumac can be pithy, as this one is. It works out well for this vase though and adds a rustic appeal.
To add a touch of color and stability, it has been inlayed with blue dyed sand.
This stands at only 3 1/4 inches tall and is about 2 1/4 inches across at the shoulders.
If you are looking for something unique to add a touch of woodland decor to a small space, you don’t need look much further.
This would also make a unique housewarming gift for a nature lover.
We periodically harvest the sumac wood from our own property. We do not harvest it all nor tree it with chemicals to prevent its growth. It is not considered a weed on our property and is allowed it to grow as wild as it would like.
