This beautiful pair of earrings was made with special attention to detail, from the antler tips all the way to the hand hammered hooks.
The antler I chose to use is a light, off white with darker tones throughout. While the tips are not exactly alike, they are as similar as possible. To soften the look, I lightly rounded the cut edge.
To balance the shade of the antler, a translucent olive green seemed perfect. These are Swarovski crystals, with a sparkle far superior to average beads.
For the wire, hooks and jump rings, I used pure raw copper, carefully wrapping the antler, forming the rings and hooks and hammering to finish.
These are sure to make a wonderful present for cowgirls, the lady hunter, the woodland fancier or anyone who loves something extra special.
*Copper can be used for some people that have metal allergies. Please note that some people are more sensitive than others, so it will depend on the individual. I am personally sensitive to some metals but can wear copper with no issues whatsoever.
**Nearly all antler that we work with is reclaimed from someone that was discarding what they no longer wanted. While we at times find some drops in the fields, it is not often. Regardless of where we source our antler from, our main goal is to make sure that the material does not lay waste in a landfill somewhere.
